Next Wednesday May 22nd will be a very special day in St. Joseph’s Mercy Navan. In the morning all students will go to the Solstice theatre for the eagerly awaited announcement of the school awards for this academic year. Our Leaving Certificate class of 2013 will have lunch with staff following the awards. Finally and most importantly the Graduation mass will be held at 7.30 in St. Mary’s.

Orals and Practicals begin….Good Wishes to all..

This week April 15th sees the beginning of the Orals and Practicals. Our Leaving Cert students have their French and German Orals and also their Music Practicals. A number of our International students have their Orals in Russian and Spanish.

The Junior Cert students have their Home Economics Practicals.

Good wishes to all. You have worked hard and you will be rewarded.

Student Council Easter Raffle 2013

Well done to the Student Council who raised over €400 in their Easter Raffle. The money will be used to provide some outdoor seating for the Summer Term. Hopefully the sun will shine!

6th Year Art Trip to Belfast

Our 6th Year Art students visited Belfast to view the Andy Warhol exhibition. Despite bad weather they had a brilliant and educational day.

St. Joseph’s is very proud of our All Ireland Senior Gaelic team. It was such an achievement to get to the final. Unfortunately we were beaten by 2 points by Mercy Macroom.

Our supporters were just brilliant.

Thank you to the teachers who trained and helped the team.

Mercy go through to All Ireland Final

There was much excitement and anticipation on Saturday as our Senior Gaelic team travelled to Mullaghoran in Cavan to compete in the All Ireland Semi-Final. Our opponents were the Ursuline Sligo who had won out in Connaught.

Our girls were simply terrific and played with such a high level of skill. Such a fabulous display of football! The final score Mercy 5.18 Ursuline Sligo 1.05. Well done to you all and to your trainer and mentors, Mr Howard, Mr Leahy and Mr Mallon.

A special word of thanks to all staff, students, parents and friends who travelled in support.
