On Friday 23rd September, our school celebrated Mercy Day. On this day, Mercy schools around the world celebrate Catherine McAuley and the founding of the Sisters of Mercy.
The theme of this year’s liturgical celebration was ‘New Life’ and the symbol our students created reflected this theme beautifully. Each class created a patchwork as part of a larger Mercy Quilt, with each square a unique interpretation of the theme of the day itself.
Our Schola performed a beautiful hymn composed by Fr. Michael Joncas; Deep and Lasting Peace. This was the first time this piece had ever been performed. The performance was also streamed live on our Facebook page and can be viewed below.
Many thanks to Fr Louis, our staff and our students for all their hard work which came to fruition so beautifully on Mercy Day.
