Fern Kelly, who won the Meath area ‘Rotary Youth Leadership Competition 2016’, last month, has gone ahead to win the Regional Final in Newry. The Youth Leadership Competition fosters leadership in young students, encouraging them to demonstrate skills of responsibility, problem solving and leadership in all aspects of life. This competition reflects leadership skills in sport and community work as well as in school.
In the first stage of the competition Fern was the overall winner against very strong competition from 22 students representing six secondary schools in the Meath area.
At the Regional Final in Newry earlier this week Fern was again successful and won one of the three coveted places for a trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. She will also be visiting Stormont in Belfast.
Congratulations Fern – a worthy winner and a credit to the school!
