It has been another busy week for our Transition Year groups, who embarked upon their History fieldtrip to Dublin on Tuesday, with their teachers Ms Smith and Ms Ni Shiadhail.
The group visited Glasnevin Cemetery, which contains historically notable monuments and the graves of many of Ireland’s most prominent national figures. These include the graves of Daniel O’Connell, Charles Stewart Parnell, Michael Collins, Éamon de Valera, Arthur Griffith, Maude Gonne, Kevin Barry, Roger Casement and Constance Markievicz.

The day also included a trip on the Viking Splash tour of Dublin, where the group were shown the sites and scenes of the capital city from a World War II amphibious vehicle.
On Wednesday, the students visited the Zeminar, Ireland’s first ever youth summit, addressing the needs of young people in the 21st century which was held in the RDS, where students had the opportunity to visit the stands and discuss the issues important to them with charities, interest groups and companies.
