Basketball
Basketball at Mercy has undergone a remarkable transformation, developing a strong and successful tradition in recent years. We proudly field four basketball teams – First Year, Second Year, Under-16’s, and Under-19’s- catering to a wide range of ages and abilities, ensuring every student has the opportunity to participate. Each squad comprises up to 20 registered players.
Training takes place every Monday at lunchtime on the basketball courts under the guidance of our dedicated coaches, Ms. Dignam and Ms. Farrell. The Under-16 and Under-19 teams play their league matches before Christmas, with First and Second Years beginning their season in January. Once the league concludes in late March, we launch our Mini Schools League, where students from each year group enjoy friendly matches — an initiative greatly supported by our Transition Year students.
