Last Friday, Mercy Secondary School hosted a fantastic 6th Class Gaelic Football Blitz, proudly organised by our TY Future Leaders students. The event brought together 12 teams from local primary schools, creating an atmosphere of energy, teamwork, and community spirit.
The day was well supported by parents, teachers, Mercy students, and staff, who cheered on the young footballers throughout the matches. A special highlight was the attendance of Meath Ladies footballers Robyn Murray and Sarah Maguire, both past pupils of Mercy, who inspired the students with their presence and words of encouragement.
The blitz not only showcased great football talent but also demonstrated the leadership, organisation, and communication skills of our TY students, who ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Well done to all the participating schools, and a big thank you to everyone who made the day such a success. The future of Gaelic football in our community looks bright!
