There was a time when people searching for precious metals had to survive in the wilderness, risking attack from wild animals and other desperadoes. Luckily for our Mercy athletes, gold, silver and bronze were in plentiful supply in Claremont Stadium last week! As many medals as athletes returned to the school, which was a remarkable achievement.
Missing from the photo are Lauren Duffy and Amy Keogan, both of whom were too busy chatting when the photo was taken. Also missing – as they were too shy – are Katie Dwyer and Sarah Mullen from the Sports Council, who made sure everything was properly organised.
Gold went to Genevieve Dorrigan (1500m), Molly O’Brien (500m) and Lauren Duffy (High Jump). The relay teams performed exceptionally well, as did all our Jumpers and Throwers.
