We are happy to announce that our school has been selected to participate in PISA 2025! A total of 172 schools around the country have been asked to take part and 45 of our own students have been randomly selected to join the project.
PISA, the Programme for International Student Assessment, is an OECD initiative. In Ireland, the Department of Education organises the project. Testing is completed as part of this where the skills and knowledge of 15-16 year-old students in reading, maths, science and ICT will be assessed. The Department of Education will use the data from the testing to find out how well our education system prepares students for life after school. The data will help identify possible areas for improvement in our education system and will be used to find out how students in Ireland compare with students in other countries.
Testing will take place next Tuesday, 11th March from 8.45am to 1pm in our school library and computer room. Students who have been selected have been informed. We wish them the best of luck on Tuesday!
